Connection and Networking - Part 6

I only noticed the language assessment result was valid for 6 months when I intended to attend an Occupation Specific Language Training.  I have had no choice but to take it again.  Thus, I called them up to reserve a time slot for assessment.

It is required to be there earlier so to let YMCA Greater Toronto counselors check on your immigrant documents.  After confirming your eligibility, the counselor will lead you to her/his office to give a brief about the assessment processes.  They are as follows:

1) The counselor will start the listening and speaking testing.  The  counselor will play the recorder giving some statements, and ask questions at end of each section.
2) For the speaking testing, the counselor will show you some pictures and ask you to tell her what is happening.
3) After listening and speaking sections, the counselor will lead you to a room to do reading and writing sections.  You are given 30 minutes for each section.
4) The assessment result is available in 15-20 minutes after you finish doing all sections.
5) Based on the result, they will give you information on any training courses that would be suitable to you.

I had the same counselor for the two assessments.  I got the same CLB benchmarks for the two assessments in 6 months interval.  I was somehow disappointed about the result, as I did not get any improvement in 6 months.

No matter how, good English/French abilities will definitely help you in job search, at work place and enjoy your life more in Canada.
