It is important to choose a city to live when preparing to immigrate to Canada. Canada is a big and diverse country. There are several big cities and small towns to consider of. There are many factors to be included.
My first consideration was about job opportunities. At the end, I chose Toronto because it is an international commercial city. Many people think the same as I do. So most of newcomers landed in Toronto each year. It was about 50% of the new immigrants arrive in Toronto each year. Although the number has dropped to 33% lately, it is still quite a lot. As a result, it is very competitive in the job market.
Nowadays more and more people settle in smaller cities and towns where the newcomers find themselves easier to get a job for less competition.
It is good to explore different cities in Canada that would help you decide where to settle down.
